PMAY scheme 2025: Muzaffur Municipal Corporation has cancelled the application of 200 candidates submitted under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in urban areas, Jagran.com reported. These applicants were found to already possess pucca houses, leaving them ineligible for the scheme's benefits.

Another 430 applicants have been warned that their applications will be cancelled due to failure to provide necessary documents despite repeated reminders. The Municipal Corporation has issued an ultimatum, stating that no further extensions will be granted

Applications under PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) are invited in phases. 973 applications were in 2023, out of which only 343 applications have been deemed valid after a lengthy examination process. Beneficiaries who have completed their houses have received all four instalments.

68 Applicants Have Not Initiated Construction Upon Receiving the Instalment

86 beneficiaries found to have taken the first and second instalments without initiating house construction. The Municipal Corporation has sent notices to these individuals, warning them of potential recovery of allotted amounts and legal action if they fail to complete the construction.
