Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday listed the four "Amrit Stambhs" that he said require empowerment for India to become a developed nation. While addressing a programme organised to mark Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in Jharkhand's Khunti, PM Modi said "women power" constitutes the first of the four pillars of development in India.

He said that food producers, including farmers, cattle rearers and pisciculturists, form the "second pillar" of the four essential for a developed India. PM Modi also emphasised on the need to empower the youth of the nation, which he called the third "Amrit Stambh". He added that people belonging to the neo-middle class and the economically disadvantaged category comprise the fourth and the last pillar necessary for the development of the nation.
