Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his Gujarat tour on Sunday, went underwater in the sea and offered prayers at the site of the submerged city Dwarka. Sharing his experience of spiritual underwater diving, PM Modi said the act of praying at the site connected him to an ancient era of spiritual grandeur.

“To pray in the city of Dwarka, which is immersed in the waters, was a very divine experience. I felt connected to an ancient era of spiritual grandeur and timeless devotion. May Bhagwan Shri Krishna bless us all,” PM Modi wrote on X.

PM Modi, while addressing the public meeting in Dwarka, said he offered a peacock feather at the ancient site of Dwarka. He said his heart was filled with emotions as his dream was fulfilled. 

PM Modi reached his home state on Saturday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several projects. On Sunday, he inaugurated the ‘Sudarshan Setu’, the country’s longest cable-stayed bridge, in Gujarat. The 2.32 km engineering marvel connects Okha mainland and Beyt Dwarka.

The bridge is of great importance for the residents and pilgrims going to pay obeisance at Dwarkadhish Temple. It features a pedestrian path adorned with verses from the holy Bhagavad Gita and depictions of Lord Krishna. Alongside the bridge, solar panels with 1 MW capacity, have been installed.

Addressing the gathering in Dwarka, PM Modi said the bridge was destined to be constructed through his hands as Lord Krishna wanted this to happen. Tearing into the Congress, he said his government in the last 10 years stopped all scams that ‘used to take place in the Congress era’. He also alleged that the grand old party used its entire force for one family.

“All kinds of scams used to take place under the Congress regime; we have stopped all those things in the last 10 years. Those who ruled the country for years never had the intention to provide relief to the people. Congress used its full strength for just one family. They used their full strength to hide their corruption. That's why they could make India only the 11th largest economy of the world in their 10 years,” PM Modi said.
