The government-owned Press Information Bureau of India (PIB) has debunked a viral social media post that stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to address the nation on Friday, October 31. In an official post on its X (formerly Twitter) handle, it wrote, "In a post circulating on social media, it is being claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 6 PM on October 31, 2025."
According to the government organisation, the news circulating on social media is based on a morphed image of an official announcement.

It further said that the image is 'fake' and tagged the Prime Minister's Office, and said that no such announcement has been made.

PIB Fact Checks India-UK Investment Post
In a separate incident, the PIB has fact-checked and debunked a claim that India is pulling 500 billion pounds from the economy of the United Kingdom. The claim was made in a YouTube video by a channel 'Kingdom Unveil'.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), it wrote, "The thumbnail and title of a YouTube video by the channel 'KindomUnveil' claims that India has pulled £500 billion from the UK economy." The post further said that the claim is 'fake' and the Government of India has taken NO such decision.
The official Twitter handle of PIB asked the people to always remain vigilant and check official governmental sources for verification. The fact-check wing of PIB is a government-owned fact-checking unit responsible for verifying false news.
