Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit the 100 million mark of followers on his 'X' account on Sunday. PM Modi is among the most followed politicians on the microblogging website owned by US businessman Elon Musk. The 100 million mark places PM Modi ahead of renowned global figures such as Taylor Swift, who has 95.2 million followers, and former US President Donald Trump, with 87.2 million followers.

Prime Minister Modi's impressive follower count also highlights his substantial influence and popularity, not only in India but across the globe. Among the top accounts on 'X', he stands alongside notable personalities like Elon Musk, Barack Obama, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

While the owner of 'X', Elon Musk boasts of the highest follower count at 189.6 million mark, former US president Barack Obama stands at a distant number two with 131.7 million people following him. Among the most followed politicians, PM Modi stands at the second place.

Reacting to the social media achievement, PM Modi said that he is 'happy' to be on 'vibrant' X.

"A hundred million on @X! Happy to be on this vibrant medium and cherish the discussion, debate, insights, people’s blessings, constructive criticism and more," PM Modi posted on X.

"Looking forward to an equally engaging time in the future as well," he added.

PM Modi is far ahead of other world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, who has 38.1 million followers, HH Sheikh Mohammed, the current ruler of Dubai, with 11.2 million followers, and Pope Francis, with 18.5 million followers.

PM Modi, who began his straight third term, stands out when compared to other Indian politicians in terms of 'X' followers. He is significantly ahead in social media reach from the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, who has 26.4 million followers.

Other political leaders in the country also lag behind the PM in follower count on X. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has 27.5 million, Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav has 19.9 million, and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has 7.4 million. Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has 6.3 million, his son Tejashwi Yadav has 5.2 million followers, while NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has 2.9 million followers.
