  1. PM Modi addressed SRCC centenary celebrations in Delhi.
  2. Praised SRCC alumni as 'OGs' using Gen Z phrases.
  3. Highlighted India's economic growth and rapid development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed Delhi University's Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC)'s centenary celebrations. Listing the government's achievements, he said that compared to 2013, the country is economically and socially much more secure today. But seeing this, the restlessness of some people is increasing, he said, taking a dig at the Opposition leaders.

PM Modi boarded the Delhi metro to attend the centenary celebrations of DU's Shri Ram College of Commerce. He also interacted with students on the train.

PM Modi Uses Gen Z Phrase - OG

PM Modi attempted to connect with youth by using Gen Z-friendly phrases such as 'OG' during his speech. The prime minister also took a reference from the recently popular film Dhurandhar to praise the students.

"The alumni of SRCC have also been very special. In your language, I would say the alumni here are the OGs. They have taken the name of SRCC across the world and made a mark for themselves in different fields. Our Arun Jaitley ji studied here. And I can say that perhaps there was hardly a meeting with him where he did not share an incident from his SRCC days. Sometimes I would get tired because he would tell me the same incident again and again. Even today, Sanjeev Sanyal, who is part of my team, is an alumnus of SRCC. We have many other colleagues who studied here as well. And it is not that SRCC has produced people only from the world of economics. From artists to politicians, lawyers and judges, people from every field have emerged from here," he elaborated.

"Dhurandhar na ho, lekin dhoom toh machayi hai," said PM Modi at the centenary celebrations of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), as he spoke about SRCC alumni, adding that they have made their mark in every sphere.

'I Gave Homoeopathic Pill For 'Dimagi Naxal' Treatment'

"You may have heard my speech from Red Fort. I gave a homoeopathic pill from the Red Fort—"Dimagi Naxal". According to the principles of homoeopathy, when you begin homoeopathic treatment, the disease initially gets worse. That is the nature of homoeopathy. Similarly, as soon as I gave the "Dimagi Naxal" homoeopathic pill, all the "Dimagi Naxals" started coming out one after another. And now the public is also seeing the true colours of those who are promoting this illness," he said, targeting his critics.

"Outside this campus, you will encounter a new world. You will meet two kinds of people. One kind consists of people who positively transform the strength of society into the strength of the nation. The second kind is made up of people who become the "Naraz Fufa" whenever any work is started. Their favourite thing is to oppose everything," he added.

Here Are The Highlights Of His Speech:

- India is moving forward with a different mindset and the work that used to take decades is now being completed in just a few years.

- Let me give you another example with the facts. India's first electric train ran in 1925. Your college was established in 1926. After that, until 2014, that is, over 90 years, less than 30 per cent of India's railway lines had been electrified. In just 12 years, we have brought railway line electrification to nearly 100 per cent. The speed that has come into India's policy-making and decision-making is being seen and understood by countries around the world. That is why they are expanding their partnerships with India.

- You understand better what it means when new markets open up and tariffs on Indian goods and services are reduced, he added. This is creating a new sky of opportunities for India's youth.

- In the coming times, the country will be a hub of manufacturing; along with this, he said that India will be a superpower of agriculture.

- The Prime Minister recounted the story of seeing a glass half-filled with water, told in his 2013 address. He said, "There are those who see a glass half-filled with water. Some see a glass half-empty. The glass appears full, half filled with water and half filled with air. I see the glass full.

- While talking about the economy, the PM said that when the world is facing a war situation, India's GDP is growing at 7.8 per cent, which is a special thing in itself.

While interacting with the students, the PM said that there was a time when the country's growth was at its lowest and inflation was at its peak.

PM Modi said that this institution, which began from a small place in Daryaganj, has today grown into a vast banyan tree of knowledge. During its 100-year journey, Shri Ram College of Commerce has shaped the future of millions of young people. He also underlined that graduates of this prestigious college have distinguished themselves both in the country and around the world and have made significant contributions to nation-building.
