Khedkar came to the limelight earlier this month after allegations of misuse of power surfaced against the then-trainee IAS officer. She subsequently faced allegations of having submitted fake disability and OBC non-creamy layer certificates to clear the civil services exam.
On July 19, a case was filed against her by the Delhi Police on the basis of a complaint lodged by the UPSC. In its complaint, the UPSC accused Khedkar of "faking her identity to fraudulently avail attempts beyond the permissible limit" in the civil services examination.
The UPSC said it conducted a probe of its own on the allegation against Khedkar and found that she faked "her identity by way of changing her name, her father's and mother's names, her photograph/signature, her email ID, mobile number and address."
On July 16, Khedkar was relieved from the District Training Programme of the State Government of Maharashtra. She was recalled to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie and her training was put on hold.
