Dilip Khedkar, father of controversial trainee civil servant Pooja Khedkar, was granted anticipatory bail by a Pune court in a threatening case involving a land dispute. Allegedly, Dilip and his wife Manorama Khedkar had threatened some farmers over a disputed land. A video had also surfaced over social media, showing Manorama Khedkar brandishing a licensed pistol to threaten a farmer at a Pune farm.

The Pune Sessions Court also granted interim protection from arrest or other coercive action till June 25, providing relief to an anticipatory bail petition filed by him. Dilip Khedkar was a civil servant in the Maharashtra government. He was allegedly suspended twice over the allegations of bribery and corruption, Business Today reported.

This comes as earlier today, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued a show cause notice to Pooja Khedkar, the controversial IAS trainee accused of misusing official powers and obtaining a fake disability certificate to enter the coveted job. The commission in its one-page notification said that it has also registered a case against the trainee as she had changed her name and other details to take extra attempts at the exam.
