Prajwal Revanna Sex Video Case: A Karnataka court on Monday sent suspended Janata Dal (Secular) leader Prajwal Revanna to judicial custody until June 24 in connection with rape and molestation cases. He has been remanded to Bengaluru Central Prison during this period. Prajwal was produced before the 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court as the SIT custody was scheduled to end today. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Karnataka sex video case did not seek further custody as it completed the spot inquest on Monday morning.
Initially, the court placed Revanna in SIT custody from May 31 to June 6, later extending it until June 10. During this period, the SIT conducted a thorough investigation, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and extensively questioning Revanna about the allegations. Considering the severity of the charges and the evidence presented, the court decided to remand him to judicial custody until June 24.
Revanna, 33, the grandson of JD(S) leader and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, failed to retain the Hassan parliamentary constituency in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

Revanna left for Germany in April when the sex tapes case emerged, prompting several lookout notices at immigration points worldwide. He returned to Bengaluru on May 31. A team of five women police officers, led by a woman IPS officer, arrested Revanna upon his arrival on May 31. This action by the Karnataka SIT, which was constituted to investigate the sexual assault charges, was seen as a symbolic message.
A 'Blue Corner Notice' seeking information on his whereabouts was issued by Interpol at the request of the SIT via the Central Bureau of Investigation. A Special Court for Elected Representatives issued an arrest warrant against Revanna on May 18.
He was initially arrested in Holenarasipura, Hassan district, for a case registered on April 28, accusing him of sexually harassing a 47-year-old former maid, with his father and MLA, H D Revanna, listed as the primary accused.

Prajwal Revanna faces three cases of sexual assault and charges of rape. The allegations surfaced after thousands of explicit videos allegedly involving him were circulated in Hassan before the Lok Sabha polls on April 26. JD(S) suspended him from the party following the accusations.
