Former probationary IAS Puja Khedkar told the Delhi High Court that she is yet to receive an order from the UPSC regarding the cancellation of her candidature and she got to know about the development only through media reports.

Notably, Khedkar moved the HC challenging UPSC decision to cancel her candidature over manipulations. The matter was mentioned before a bench headed by acting chief justice Manmohan and heard on Wednesday by a bench led by Justice Jyoti Singh.

Appearing for Khedkar, advocate Indira Jaising, mentioning the press release, said, “The strange thing about this case is that the order cancelling my candidature has not been handed over to me till date. All I have is the press release.”

Khedkar, on behalf of her lawyer, sought an order to apply against it in an appropriate tribunal. “The press release has to be quashed. They have to supply me the order so that I can approach the appropriate tribunal,” she added.

The UPSC, responding to Khedkar’s submission, said it would provide her the cancellation order within next two days. The court has granted permission to Khedkar to take up the issue with appropriate forum.

The UPSC said it served show cause notice to Puja Khedkar, seeking her reply over the alleged irregularities in her documents. The body also provided her another opportunity but she failed to file a reply.
