The rates of almost everything, in the last few years, have reached a level where buying anything major in life automatically comes with an ‘expectancy’ of it also being the best. This civil engineer must have expected something similar as he bought an expensive apartment of Rs 1.5 crore. However, the pillar of his ‘dreams’ seemingly fell down when he noticed an alleged roof leak at his luxury apartment. Taking to social media, the engineer shared a picture of the leak and vented out his frustration by calling the entire thing a construction scam. His post was quick to go viral as people had a lot to say.

The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘mrtechsense’. The post was captioned, “My room in 1.5CR apartment 5th/16th floor is leaking water. These expensive buildings are such a scam bro! The civil engineer inside me can't comprehend this.” The post was shared a few days back and pulled 380K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Might be a leakage in the floor above you. Happened to us. The upper floor had a leakage in the pipe and this started happening. If not fixed, drops will start falling slowly. The best is to have a standalone house,” a user said. “I am proud that the civil engineer inside you could afford a 1.5Cr building,” added another.

“I know why because the builder usually cuts the cost when it comes to providing premium waterproofing systems. I have seen big companies (the top 4) opting for a basic waterproofing of yesteryear system for flats worth crores,” wrote a third. “I feel the real estate market is too inflated. Better wait for a drop in prices before buying any property,” added a fourth.
