Pune Porsche Accident: Shivani Agarwal, mother of 17-year-old accused in Pune Porsche accident case, has been arrested and will be produced before the court today, said Pune Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar. The arrest comes after it was revealed that the blood sample of the minor boy was replaced with that of a woman at the government-run Sassoon Hospital. Two doctors and a ward boy at the hospital, where the teen was finally taken hours after the accident, may have manipulated the tests by altering the samples.

The development came amid nationwide outrage after the 17-year-old son of Pune-based real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, allegedly mowed down two bike-borne IT professionals after hitting them with his Porsche car while driving in an intoxicated state.

A member of the Juvenile Justice Board, Dr LN Danwade, granted bail to the minor boy, asking him to work with traffic police in Yerawada for 15 days, write an essay about the accident, seek medical treatment to quit drinking and receive psychiatric counselling.

Meanwhile, the two friends of the Pune teenager claimed that he was drunk at the time of the accident. Multiple witnesses told the Pune police that the 2.5 crore Porshe car was travelling at a speed of 200 mph when it rammed the duo - Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta - who were travelling on their motorcycle.

Earlier, CCTV footage from two city bars showed the teen sitting around tables with his friends while liquor bottles were ladden on the tables. Later, the bar owners and the staffers were also questioned and detained for serving liquor to a minor. Maharashtra's legal drinking age is 25.

Witnesses present at the spot had claimed that the boy appeared to be "heavily drunk" when he was detained by an angry crowd that gathered after the incident. There were also reports that the crowd assaulted the boy.

Lapses In Investigation Surfaced

As the public outcry over the Pune Porsche Crash intensified, many lapses from the authorities surfaced in the media. According to an NDTV report, the cops who took hold of the immediate situation didn't take him for the blood alcohol test. Two of the cops have been suspended by the Maharashtra government.

Further investigation has revealed that two doctors and a ward boy at the state-run Sassoon Hospital, where the teen was finally taken hours after the accident, may have manipulated the tests by altering the samples. It was also found that the teen had been given water to drink, which could have diluted the alcohol level.

Two senior doctors, Dr Ajay Tawade and Dr Hari Harnor, were detained by the Pune Police after they were accused of replacing the minor's blood samples with someone else's. Later, the boy's blood sample was found in a dustbin of the hospital. Both the doctors, along with the ward boy who allegedly handed over ₹3 lakh from the teen's family to the doctors to alter the tests, will remain in police custody until Wednesday.
