Pune Water Cut News: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a 24-hour disruption in the water supply in certain parts of the city on April 3. Parts of the city will face a water supply cut because of the maintenance work to be undertaken by the PMC.

The water supply will be resumed gradually on April 4 (Friday), and hence, the areas may witness low pressure in the morning, as per the Pune Mirror report.

As per the report, the Water Supply Department of the PMC will carry out electrical, structural and pumping repairs at several locations like old and new Parvati Water Treatment Plants, Bhama Askhed, Lakshar Water Works, Holkar Water Centre, Vadgaon Water Centre, Warje Water Centre, Rajiv Gandhi Pumping Station, and other key facilities. 

The maintenance is necessary to ensure smooth and efficient supply of water in the months to come.

Areas to be affected

Several areas of the Pune district will face the water supply cut. The water supply cut will affect Central Pune, Eastern Pune, North-Western Pune, Western Pune, and South Eastern Pune. Here is the detailed information about areas to be affected: 

Central Pune: Guruwar Peth, Budhwar Peth, Nana Peth, Lohia Nagar, Mukund Nagar, Maharshinagar, Ghorpade Peth, Sahakarnagar, Bibwewadi, Gangadham, Lake Town, Shivtejanagar, and Upper Indiranagar.

Eastern Pune: Viman Nagar, Vishrantwadi, Lohgaon, Yerwada, Dhanori, and surrounding areas.

North-Western Pune: Baner, Model Colony, Balewadi, Bavdhan, parts of Pashan, Aundh, Gokhale Nagar, Kothrud, and Karve Nagar.

Western Pune: Deccan, Dhankawadi, Shivajinagar, Swargate, Katraj, Ambegaon, Hingne, and areas along Sinhagad Road.

South-Eastern Pune & IT Hubs: EON IT Park, Chandan Nagar, Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Ramtekdi Industrial Area, Kharadi, and adjoining residential localities.

Given the water supply cut, Pune residents are advised to store sufficient water before the cut and use it judiciously to avoid any contingency. The normal supply will be restored on the next day on April 4.
