Pune Traffic Advisory: The Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad traffic police have issued a traffic advisory for the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, set to be celebrated on Thursday. The advisory was issued considering the large crowd expected to participate in the celebrations in several regions of the city. While advising the residents to use the public transportation, the traffic police listed the regions likely to witness heavy traffic congestion. It further advised the commuters to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the authority stated that the processions will begin from Lakshmi Road and Shivaji Road on Thursday. It further stated that several regions of Pune, including Bajirao Road, Kumthekar Road, and Kelkar Road, are likely to witness heavy traffic congestion till the evening hours. The traffic police further stated that vehicular movement on Nehru Road, Laxmi Road, Shivaji Road, and Bajirao Road will be diverted from 7 am until the rush eases in these regions.

The traffic police has advised the commuters from Jijamata Chowk towards Swargate via Shivaji Road to take Jangli Maharaj Road from SG Barve Chowk to avoid the rush, especially till 3 PM. Apart from this, the commuters from other regions, including Ganesh Road, Daruwala Bridge, and Phadke Haud Chowk towards Jijamata Chowk, have been advised to travel via Daruwala Bridge Chowk to cut the travel time.

The authority further stated that the vehicles will not be able to proceed towards Budhwar Chowk and Bajirao Road once the procession begins. It asserted that the commuters will be directed along Kelkar Road during the peak hours to manage the additional crowd. Apart from this, the commuters will be diverted from Sant Kabir Chowk on Lakshmi Road during the processions.

The traffic police have advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings in the early hours to avoid the rush.
