Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off the Pune-Jodhpur train on May 3 from Pune railway station. Other dignitaries who attended the event included Murlidhar Mohol, Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation; Medha Kulkarni, Member of Parliament; and Sunil Kamble, MLA. The Jodhpur to Hadapsar Express will operate every day of the week.

At the same time, Vaishnaw also virtually flagged off the MGR Chennai Central–Jodhpur (Bhagat Ki Kothi) Express through video conferencing.
He promised to enhance the station with additional facilities, including four new platforms, a second entryway, and a fully digitized control system to ease growing congestion.
“During our election campaign, we promised to address congestion, and now we have a DPR detailing decongestion plans for six stations. For Pune station, we’re planning four new platforms, a second entryway, and full digitalisation. A new Pune–Lonavala line will begin after state approval. We also have plans for lines like Jalna–Jalgaon and Pune–Nashik, with work to begin after route finalisation. I’ve already done the first review and will proceed, considering the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Nashik,” Ashwini Vaishnaw said.
The Pune–Jodhpur train service will commence on May 6, 2025. Passengers can start booking their journeys in advance for travel from this date.
The inaugural run of Train No. 01401, the Hadapsar (Pune) – Jodhpur Express, commenced its journey on May 3, 2025. The train departed from Pune at 17:30 hrs and is scheduled to arrive in Jodhpur at 14:00 hrs on May 4, 2025.
Pune-Jodhpur Train Regular Services (Effective from May 6, 2025):
Train No. 20496, the Hadapsar – Jodhpur Express, departs daily from Hadapsar at 19:15 hrs. This train takes passengers on an overnight journey to Jodhpur, providing a comfortable and efficient way to travel between the two cities. It arrives at Jodhpur at 15:10 hrs the following day, offering a convenient travel schedule for those heading to Jodhpur.
Train No. 20495, the Jodhpur – Hadapsar Express, departs daily from Jodhpur at 22:00 hrs. The train provides an overnight journey, taking passengers from Jodhpur to Hadapsar in comfort. It arrives at Hadapsar at 17:10 hrs the following day, making it a convenient option for travelers heading to Hadapsar.
Scheduled Halts:
The train makes scheduled halts at several key stations along its route. These include Pune, Chinchwad, Lonavala, Kalyan, Vasai Road, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Geratpur, Ahmedabad, Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Pindwara, Jawai Bandh, Falna, Rani, Marwar Junction, Pali Marwar, and Luni.
Coach Composition:
The train features a diverse range of coaches to accommodate different passenger preferences. It includes 2 AC 2-Tier coaches, 3 AC 3-Tier coaches, and 2 AC 3-Tier Economy coaches for those seeking air-conditioned comfort. Additionally, there are 7 Sleeper Class coaches, 4 General Second Class coaches, and 1 General Second Class cum Guard’s Brake Van. The train is also equipped with 1 Generator Van to ensure smooth operations throughout the journey.
Pune-Jodhpur Ticket Reservations:
Bookings for Train No. 20496, the Hadapsar – Jodhpur Express, will open on May 5, 2025. Passengers can make reservations through all computerised reservation centres. Tickets can also be booked online via the IRCTC website at www.irctc.co.in.
