Punjab News: A minor blast was reported inside a house in Punjab's Batala district on Monday. While the reason of the blast is still not know yet, the people could be seen running and panicking after the blast. A video has emerged in which the walls of the house could be seen destroyed.
The reports suggest the house belongs to a policeman and the blast is seen as another attack on the police in Punjab. This was reportedly the twelfth blast in which police posts were target. However, this was the first attack on policeman's house since mid-November 2024, reported the Times of India.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Batala, Suhail Qasim Mir, confirmed that a loud sound was heard in the village that created panic among the locals. He stated that a low-intensity bomb could be the reason behind the explosion. While providing details, he said that it is not clear that whether the explosion was because of grenade or some other form of explosive. However, he assured that an investigating is ongoing and the authorities will find the reason behind the explosion soon.
"We are verifying what happened and investigating the cause to understand the exact situation," Qasim was quoted as saying by the Times of India. He also confirmed that the blast was reported from the location near the house of the policeman. This blast is also seen as an attempt to threaten police of the state. Earlier on February 3, a blast was reported outside the Fatehgarh Churian police chowki in Amritsar. Though no policemen got injured in the incident, the police officials stated that the intention was to hurt the officials. The Punjab police has been investigating all these cases and the officials assured that these anti-social elements will be caught soon.
