Trains Cancelled: The Indian Railways has cancelled 24 trains, including the Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Weekly Express, for a long two and a half months, between December 1 to February 15.

The Railways has also announced that the frequency of the 26 trains operating on the North Eastern Railway route, including the Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Humsafar and Bagha Express, will also be reduced on various dates.

Why are trains being cancelled?

The cancellation and reduction in frequency of trains have been announced, citing the adverse weather conditions that are likely to prevail due to dense fog.

According to Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh, the reduced speed of trains in fog reduces line capacity, which is why the number of trains has been reduced.

During this period, some trains with low occupancy have been cancelled and the frequency of some trains has been reduced. This is to ensure normal and safe train operations during fog. Keeping passenger safety and security in mind, trains have been regulated due to line capacity constraints and operational difficulties during the winter season.

Some major trains that will be cancelled include:

-12595 Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Express from December 1 to February 12.

-12596 Anand Vihar Terminal-Gorakhpur Express from December 2 to February 13.

-15057 Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Express on December 04, 11, 18, 25, January 01, 08, 15, 22, 29 and February 05 and 12.

-15058 Anand Vihar Terminal-Gorakhpur Express on December 03, 10, 17, 24, 31, January 07, 14, 21, 28 and February 04 and 11.

-14617 Purnia Court-Amritsar Express from December 3 to March 2.

-14618 Amritsar-Purnia Court Express from December 1 to February 28.

-14213 Varanasi-Bahraich Express from December 1 to February 28.

-14214 Bahraich-Varanasi Express from December 2 to March 1.

-15033/15034 Patliputra-Lucknow Jn-Patliputra Express will remain cancelled on December 01, 02, 03, 08, 09, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31, January 05, 06, 07, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, and February 02, 03, 04, 09, 10 and 11.

-12571 Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Express will remain cancelled on December 03, 07, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24, 28, 31, January 04, 07, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28, and February 01, 04, 08, 11 and 15.

-12572 Anand Vihar Terminal-Gorakhpur Express will remain cancelled on December 01, 04, 08, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, 29 and January 01, 05, 08, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29, and February 02, 05, 09 and 12.

-12523 New Jalpaiguri-Anand Vihar Terminal Express will remain cancelled on December 02, 09, 16, 23 and 30, January 06, 13, 20 and 27, and February 03, 10, 17 and 24.

-12524 New Jalpaiguri-Anand Vihar Terminal Express will remain cancelled on December 03, 10, 17, 24 and 31, January 07, 14, 21 and 28, February 04, 11, 18 and 25.

-11123 Gwalior-Barauni Express will remain cancelled on December 01, 04, 08, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25 and 29, January 01, 05, 08, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29, February 02, 05, 09, 12, 16, 19, 23 and 26.
