Train Rail Neer Price: The Ministry of Railways has announced a cut in the price of packaged drinking water bottles sold on railway premises and trains. The revision will take effect from September, 22 2025.
According to the new order, the price of a one-litre bottle of Rail Neer will be reduced from Rs 15 to Rs 14. Similarly, a 500 ml bottle will now cost Rs 9 instead of Rs 10.
The decision has been taken to ensure that passengers directly benefit from the reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST). The revised rates will apply not only to Rail Neer but also to other packaged drinking water brands approved by IRCTC and Railways.

GST Reforms To Take Effect From September 22
The new Goods and Services Tax (GST) structure, coming into force on 22 September, will follow a simpler two-slab system of 5 percent and 18 percent. The changes aim to make essential items more affordable and reduce the burden on households. Everyday goods such as soaps, toothpaste, and Indian breads will now attract either no tax or a 5 percent rate.
Several medicines and life-saving drugs have also been moved from 12 percent to either nil or 5 percent, cutting healthcare costs. Middle-class buyers will see relief with lower taxes on two-wheelers, small cars, televisions, air conditioners, and cement, all brought down from 28 percent to 18 percent. Agricultural equipment will now be taxed at 5 percent, while luxury goods, tobacco, and aerated drinks will face a higher 40 percent slab.
