Janseva Express Cancelled: With the onset of winter, thick fog has once again forced Indian Railways to suspend operations on the Purnia Court–Amritsar Janseva Express for nearly three months in the Saharsa section.
The Railways has issued an official notification stating that, to ensure safe train movement during heavy fog, several trains will remain cancelled from 1 December 2025 to 28 February 2026, including Janseva Express.

Janseva Express Cancellation Details
Train 14617 Purnia Court - Amritsar Janseva Express: Fully cancelled from 3 December 2025 to 2 March 2026
Train 14618 Amritsar - Purnia Court Janseva Express: Fully cancelled from 1 December 2025 to 28 February 2026
In addition, many long-distance trains originating from various stations under East Central Railway have been fully cancelled, while several others will run on partially cancelled routes during this period.
The Purnia–Amritsar Janseva Express via Saharsa is considered the most affordable and fastest option for migrant workers from the Kosi and Seemanchal regions heading to Punjab and northern states.

Its complete suspension from December will cause major hardship to thousands of daily-wage labourers who rely heavily on this train for travel during the peak winter migration season.
