Railways News: The Railways has informed that several trains bound for the northern states are facing delays due to the presence of dense fog, especially in the morning hours. The authority stated that the trains have been operating at a slower pace due to the reduced visibility in these states. The delays have been causing inconvenience to thousands of passengers of several states, including Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. The Railways stated that the schedule of several long-distance trains has been changed to address the issue. It further advised the passengers to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the Railways stated that the departure of the Puri-Anand Vihar Terminal (New Delhi) Express has been rescheduled from 9.55 pm to 10.55 pm. Apart from this, the Puri-Rishikesh Kalinga Utkal Express will depart from Puri at 2.30 am on Monday, instead of 8.45 pm on Sunday. The departure of the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express has been delayed by four hours on Monday.

Apart from this, the Puri-Durg Express's departure time was also delayed by over two hours due to the late running of the link trains, reported the Times of India, citing sources. The authority informed that the Puri-Anand Vihar Terminal Superfast Express reached Delhi two hours late on Saturday night, leading to inconveniences for the passengers.
While providing details, the officials stated that the trains were operating late due to the presence of fog, adding that the situation is likely to improve in the upcoming weeks. "Trains are running at a slow speed because of fog. Loco pilots follow several precautions while piloting trains in such conditions," an ECoR spokesperson was quoted as saying by TOI.
