Rajasthan Free Mobile Yojana 2023: The much-anticipated initiative of providing free smartphones to women and girls linked with the Chiranjeevi scheme in Rajasthan begins on Thursday.

According to the scheme, the state will distribute smartphones to 1,00,40,000 women in the state. But in the first phase, only 40 lakh women will be given free smartphones through Telecom Service Providers authorized by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).This initiative was announced by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The CM will launch the 'Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana' at Birla Auditorium today. On this occasion, he would distribute Smartphones with SIM cards and internet access. Simultaneously, after launching the 'Digital Sakhi Book,' he would connect with the beneficiaries via video conferencing.

Also, Rs 6800 will be transferred to the e-wallet of the beneficiaries, so that women and girls can take the smartphone of their choice in the camps which will be organised at the district level.

Beneficiaries Of The First Phase

- Girl students studying in classes 9th to 12th in government schools

-Girls studying in government higher educational institutions

-Widow, women getting single women pension

-Women heads of families who have completed 100 working days in the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme in the year 2022-23

The Process

The beneficiary will initially undergo e-KYC at the camp via the IGSY portal. The Janadhaar e-wallet will be placed on the beneficiary's or a closely recognised person's smartphone phone. Following that, three types of forms will be printed and distributed after entering the PAN card details on the IGSY portal.

Taking these forms, the beneficiary will travel to the mobile service provider company's counter and select the SIM, data plan, and mobile. Following that, the form and papers will be scanned and uploaded to the IGSY portal.

After this process money will be transferred to the beneficiary's e-wallet and the beneficiary will get the smartphone.

Documents Needed

It is mandatory for the beneficiary to bring a Janadhar card, Aadhar card, PAN card, and mobile phone registered with a Janadhar card. Whereas, girl students have to bring an ID card or enrollment card.
