Jaipur News: The Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government will provide six per cent reservation to Most Backward Castes among the OBCs. This will be followed after the OBC commission will conduct a survey to identify the most backward castes in the OBC category and will submit the report.

This will be in addition to the 21 per cent reservation the state already provides to Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

"A survey will be conducted by the OBC commission to identify the most backward castes in the OBC category and the commission will submit the report in a time-bound manner," Gehlot said on social media X on Wednesday. "With this, the most backward castes will get more opportunities for education and government jobs," he added further.

Several organisations of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe organisations continue to call for population-based reservations, and the government is looking into the demand, CM Gehlot said.

In the 10 per cent reservation for the EWS category, the Rajasthan government had removed the condition of immovable property due to which this class could get the benefit of reservation completely, he added.

Recently, the Rajasthan government made an announcement that the state government decided to ban molesters and rapists from government jobs. With this, people convicted of rape and molesting will not be eligible to apply for jobs in the government sector.

He said that the state government will keep a record of such miscreants in police stations like history-sheeters and this will be mentioned on their character certificate issued by the state government or police.

"The state government has decided that molesters, rape accused and miscreants will be banned from government jobs. For this records of such miscreants will be kept in police stations like history-sheeters and this will be mentioned on their character certificate issued by the state government/police. Social boycott of such anti-social elements is necessary," Gehlot wrote on X.
