Jagran Correspondent, Ayodhya: Several members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust have arrived in Ayodhya for a scheduled meeting on Wednesday. This marks the second time the trust is meeting this month amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the theft of offerings at the Ram Temple.

While members Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati, Swami Vishwaprasannatirtha, and Yugpurusha Swami Paramananda have already reached the city, Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri and Interim General Secretary Krishna Mohan are expected to arrive shortly.

Ram Temple Trust To Appoint New Trustees And CEO

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is set to make key decisions during a meeting scheduled for 4:00 PM today at Maniram Das Chhawani, chaired by Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das.

During the meeting, the board will select three new trustees to fill vacancies left by the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, and the death of Bimalendra Mohan Mishra, head of the Ayodhya royal family. The trust is also expected to reach a consensus on appointing a new General Secretary.

Additionally, the board faces the immediate challenge of restructuring the temple administration to prevent future security lapses following a recent theft of offerings. On July 6, trustees accepted the resignations of Rai and Mishra and removed administrator Gopal Rao from his role as a special invitee. Trustee Krishna Mohan was appointed interim general secretary. A three-member committee was tasked with selecting a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Having received over 5,000 applications, the trust is expected to review candidates for the role today.

Trust To Reconstitute Committees, Review Priest Duties Today

As per trust rules, several committees are proposed to be reconstituted during the meeting. The agenda, issued by Interim General Secretary Krishna Mohan, includes a discussion on the final report submitted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). However, as the SIT report has now been submitted to the Supreme Court, a discussion on it is unlikely.

The meeting will address key decisions regarding the relocation of the counting room and measures to ensure financial transparency. Before the scheduled meeting at 4:00 PM, a special meeting will take place at 3:00 PM to consider candidate selections for the vacant trustee positions. The daily duties of the priests appointed to serve Ram Lalla will also be reviewed.
