Jagran Correspondent, Ayodhya: The Uttar Pradesh Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed after the theft of offerings from Shri Ram Lalla and other temples within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ramnagari, has completed its preliminary investigation and will submit its preliminary report to the Chief Minister's Office on Sunday.

Based on the investigation report so far, the SIT may file an FIR in this case. The team will then tighten the legal screws against the employees involved and, as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stated, will bring the matter to justice when it submits its final report within 15 days.

During the investigation, the SIT questioned trust officials, bank officials and employees involved in counting money and jewellery at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The SIT has found discrepancies on several accounts. After the matter came to light, on June 13, the government formed a three-member team led by Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Dr Vijay Vishwas Pant.

The team began its investigation on June 15 and is now in Lucknow with the aim of submitting its preliminary report within seven days. The SIT has compiled important documents and evidence on nine pen drives, which have been preserved.

The SIT has clearly told those under suspicion during the investigation not to leave Ayodhya without prior permission. Trust officials have also been barred from leaving the district.

Cases related to the use of donation funds, unnecessary expenditures, and land purchases have been investigated. Records dating back to 2021 have been examined, and bank officials have also been questioned.
