Delhi-Meerut RapidX Train metro is all set to be inaugurated on Friday by Prime Minister Modi and the operations for the passenger train will begin on October 21. India's first Regional Rail, RAPIDX from Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh tomorrow. The entire 82.15 km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS is targeted to be operational by June 2025. The first phase will cover a distance of 17 kilometres which includes a total of five stations - Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot. The trains will run at a speed of 160 kilometres per hour at an interval of 15 minutes.
The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Corridor, which is currently under construction is being built for a semi-high-speed regional rail service named ‘RAPIDX’ by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), is a joint venture company of the Centre with the governments of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

The Delhi-Meerut RAPIDX train is equipped with CCTV cameras, an emergency door-opening mechanism, and a button to communicate with a train operator.
It is equipped with six CCTV cameras, besides passenger amenities such as overhead luggage racks, Wi-Fi, and a mobile and laptop charging outlet at every seat.
It consists of a button — Passenger Emergency Communication Units — to talk to a train operator in case of a health emergency or other kind of emergency, and fire extinguishers.
The RRTS station is equipped with platform screen doors (PSDs). These PSDs are integrated with RRTS train doors and the signalling system.
A ‘Help Call Point’ at the concourse or platform level will be available to get in touch with station authorities in the event of an emergency. Passengers can also avail emergency support via the RAPIDX Connect mobile application.

The RapidX will begin regular services on a 17-km priority section from October 21. The Standard Class fares will range from Rs 20 to Rs 50, while the Premium Class fares will start from Rs 40 and go up to Rs 100.
