The Jaipur Police on Monday refuted the speculations of brake failure as the reason behind the horrific accident that claimed the lives of 14 people. Senior officials confirmed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

According to a report by India Today, the truck driver argued with a car driver moments before the deadly accident.

The report cited Assistant Commission Usha Yada saying that shortly before the accident, the driver had an argument with the car driver and the two brushed past each other's vehicles.

The episode did not take place on the highway itself but on a nearby road at a turn. The car driver stepped out and scolded the trucker, which enraged him.

He reportedly rammed the truck into the car. The car driver moved his vehicle aside, and the accused fled with the dumper.
