The sister of the arrested terrorist Dr Muzammil, and two other close relatives, including a senior doctor at Srinagar's SMHS Hospital, have also been questioned.
A powerful blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening caused panic across Old Delhi, leaving at least 13 people dead and several others injured. The explosion took place outside Gate No. 1 of the Lal Qila Metro Station, setting multiple vehicles on fire.
Muzammil's sister completed her MBBS from Bangladesh. Another female doctor is also being sought, while the backgrounds of two female doctors who settled in the Gulf countries after completing their MBBS from Bangladesh are also being investigated. More than 50 doctors and paramedical staff members were questioned in Kashmir on Wednesday.
Jagran sources indicate that the investigation into the white-collar modules of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind may also be handed over to the NIA.
Officially, 16 people have been arrested in the case, while three others have been detained for questioning. Approximately 52 officials and employees of Faridabad-based Al-Falah University have been questioned. Most of the doctors involved in the terrorist module taught at the university. He was later released, but his mobile phone was seized for forensic examination. A doctor close to Dr Adil Rather is also being sought. The doctor's mobile phone is switched off, but police have seized his laptop and some other items. Sources said two to three female doctors living abroad who obtained MBBS degrees from Bangladesh have also been identified. The doctors were in contact with Dr Umar and Dr Muzammil.
