The Andhra Pradesh Public Works Department has deployed the advanced “Road Doctor” machine across several districts to repair potholes efficiently and effectively. According to authorities, the vehicle uses an advanced technology to fix the pothole issue in several cities of the state.

Each machine has reportedly incurred a cost of Rs 1.5 crore to the state government.

Mechanism Of ‘Road Doctors’

The vehicle detects potholes as it passes through colonies and main roads. The machine prepares the required mix and levels the road surface on-site, completing the entire process at a single location and causing minimal traffic disruption. 

According to the authorities, the method adopted by the ‘road doctors’ is efficient and time-saving, thereby enabling rapid pothole repairs while ensuring smoother traffic flow.

Road Doctor Deployed In THESE Districts Of Andhra Pradesh

Road Doctors are currently deployed in Kakinada, Guntur and Tirupati Districts. The machines are regulated and overseen by the Municipal Corporations of the respective areas.

Netizens React Positively To The Initiative

The initiative has received positive feedback from the netizens as the videos of the Road Doctors circulated widely on social media. A user by the name Vineeth K hailed the initiative and wrote, “This is the best use of taxpayer money I have seen in recent days."

Another user wrote, “If this is really working in Andhra, the whole country needs this," a user commented on the video.” A third user commented, “India needs 1 million of these dispersed throughout the country! Salvation!"

A fourth user highlighted the issue of potholes in Bengaluru while commenting on the video and wrote, “Bangalore needs this machine desperately.” A fifth user commented that the machine “should be made mandatory” across the country.
