Delhi: In a shocking discovery, the body of a woman was found hidden inside a bed box at a residence in Delhi's Shahdara, Vivek Vihar area. The incident came to light after the police were alerted about a foul smell emanating from the house. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the woman's body wrapped in a blanket and placed inside a bag within the bed box.

The house is owned by Vivekanand Mishra, who is believed to be between 50 and 60 years old. According to Shahdara Additional DCP Neha Yadav, the police received a call at 4:37 PM reporting the suspicious smell. "The house, located at 118A, Satyam Enclave, Jhilmil Colony, belongs to Vivekanand Mishra. Upon inspection, we discovered the intact body of a woman wrapped in a blanket inside a bag, which was placed in a bed box. An incense stick was also found on top of the box. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, and no arrests have been made so far. Legal action is ongoing," she stated.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam revealed that the police found the house locked from the outside. Upon closer examination, traces of blood were detected near the backdoor. Once inside, officers discovered the decomposing body of a woman in her late 40s. According to preliminary investigations, it is believed that she was killed two to three days prior to being found.

Sources cited by PTI reported that the owner of the flat, Vivekanand Mishra, had visited the property on Thursday night and Friday afternoon. Forensic experts have collected evidence from the scene, and a detailed investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of death and identify the victim.
