In a shocking incident, a B-Tech student of Greater Noida's Sharda University allegedly died by suicide in his hostel room on the Campus, the police said on Saturday.

The police have identified the student as Shivan Dey from Bihar's Madhubani. He was staying at a room in the HMR hostel and took the extreme step on Friday.

The police reached the hostel room and took custody of the body soon after getting the information. While the body was sent for post-mortem, a forensic team was also called to get the scene inspected.

The police officials added that a suicide note was found in the room in which Shivam blamed the education system in India and personal problems as the reasons behind his step.

The suicide note also included some appeals. The note read, "If you are reading this, I am dead. My death is my own decision. Nobody is involved in this. I have been planning this for a year".
