Srinagar Blast Updates: An accidental explosion at Nowgam police station on the outskirts of Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar on Friday killed nine people and injured 32 others, mostly police officers and forensic specialists. The chilling moment of the blast was captured on a CCTV camera in the area.

The accidental explosion that claimed nine lives was triggered when police and forensic team officials were examining samples from a large cache of explosives. The material had recently been seized in connection with the ongoing investigation into the 'white-collar' terror module case from Faridabad, Haryana.

The explosion was captured on CCTV. Footage from the nearby house showed the impact of the blast, leaving a visible trail of destruction across the area. Another video captured the aftermath of the explosion, showing fire crews battling flames and heavy plumes of smoke rising from the blast site.

Srinagar Blast Updates: What We Know So Far?

- Nine people were killed and 32 were injured in an accidental explosion at Nowgam police station on the outskirts of Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar on Friday, November 14, officials said.

- The explosion occurred when the police and forensic officials were handling the explosive material that had recently been brought from Faridabad, Haryana, linked to a ‘white-collar’ terror module.

- The ammonium nitrate was part of 360 kg of explosives recovered from the rented residence of the arrested doctor, Muzammil Ganaie.

- Six unidentified bodies were retrieved from the blast site and rushed to the Police Control Room in Srinagar.

- As many as 24 police personnel and three civilians were admitted to various hospitals with injuries after the late-night explosion that damaged the police station and triggered emergency sirens.

- Small successive explosions followed by the main blast slowed down rescue efforts by the bomb disposal squad.

- DGP J&K visited the blast site and will address the media today at 10 AM on Saturday, Police Control Room (PCR) in Kashmir, Srinagar.
