Tamil Nadu: At least 31 people, including children, were killed, and over 50 others were injured after actor-turned-politician and TVK Chief Vijay’s rally in Tamil Nadu’s Karur turned tragic.

The rally organised by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and led by the party Chief Vijay drew tens of thousands of supporters, leading to a stampede-like situation. The situation turned tragic when over 20 attendees, including children, fainted due to overcrowding and a lack of ventilation.

TVK Chief Vijay was forced to cut his speech short as chaos unfolded on the ground, with medical teams rushing to assist the affected.
