Rajasthan News:  The national president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, was shot at by unknown assailants in the Shyampur area of Jaipur. The attack occurred as Gogamedi entered his house in the Shyamnagar area, resulting in serious injuries. Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi succumbed to the injuries and was pronounced dead after being rushed to Metro Mass Hospital, reported PTI.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and there is a heightened state of alert within the police administration. Local authorities and senior officials swiftly reached the crime scene, deploying a heavy police force in the Shyamnagar area. The specific location of the shooting is yet to be disclosed, but reports suggest that the incident took place near Gogamedi's residence.

The Metro Mass Hospital is currently swarming with a large crowd of Gogamedi supporters, and additional police forces have been deployed to manage the escalating situation. Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi reportedly had four gunshot wounds after being shot two times by the scooty-borne shooters. As of now, the identity of the assailants remains unknown, and the police are actively searching for leads to capture them.

Who Is Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi?

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi had previously played a prominent role in the Rashtriya Karni Sena and later formed the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena following a dispute. Gogamedi gained public attention during the protests in Rajasthan after the release of the film "Padmavat" and the gangster Anandpal encounter case. Several of his videos addressing these issues have gone viral.

The news of Gogamedi's shooting has put the entire city of Jaipur on high alert, with the police increasing security measures across the state. The authorities closely monitor the situation, and an intensive search for the attackers is underway. Earlier, reports of him seeking police protection after getting life threats also came to light.

Had Blamed State Congress Unit For Assembly Election Defeat

In his last post on X, the Karni Sena chief, levelled strong allegations on the state Congress unit of ignoring Karni Sena voices in the elections.

"Rajasthan Assembly elections have been held in 2023. In this, the wrong ticket distribution of Congress and ignoring Karni Sena has resulted in a shameful defeat. Our assembly has remained at fifth position out of a total of 3669 in Bhadra. The high command should pay attention," he had written in the post.

Members of the Rajput Community have staged a protest in Jaipur after the news of Gogamedi's death came out. The protestors have gathered in large numbers.
