Tirupati Laddu Row: The Supreme Court on Monday will hear a petition filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy and former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman YV Subba Reddy over the use of animal fat in making of the Laddu for the Tirupati Temple.
Swamy and Reddy have appealed for a court-monitored investigation into the case. A bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan will hear the pleas.
A row sparked after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu claimed that animal fat was used to make the laddu given as prasad at Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati under the previous YSR Congress government led by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Meanwhile, in the plea, the BJP leader has appealed to the apex court to order the Andhra Pradesh government to file a detailed report on the ghee used in the making of laddu.

"There ought to have been checks and balances internally to supervise and verify and check the quality or the lack of it, of the suppliers supplying various ingredients to the temple which go into the making of the prasad," the petition said.
Swamy also posted on X about his plea.
"Today, I filed a PIL seeking Supreme Court direction to investigate unsubstantiated allegation by CM CB Naidu that the Tirupati Tirumala Temple Prasadam were adulterated with meat of animals and other rotten items creating chaos almost bhaktas," he wrote in the post.
Separately, former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman Y V Subba Reddy, a Member of Rajya Sabha, also moved the apex court seeking a probe by an independent committee under a retired Supreme Court judge.
Meanwhile, amid the controversy, former CM and YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday took a swipe at Naidu and that "the demon rule is continuing in the state" and that they're trying to obstruct his upcoming visit to the Tirumala temple.

Reddy also accused CM Naidu of "blatantly lying" about the Tirupati Laddu Prasadam, adding that the ghee procurement e-tender is a routine process that has been happening for decades.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu responded to Jagan and said YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was claiming as if he was prevented by authorities from visiting the Tirumala temple and asked if he was served any notice to not go to the shrine.
