In a bid to decongest public transportation and offer smooth travel, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has decided to operate a special bus service to the Surajkund International Crafts Mela from January 31 to February 15. For this, the DTC has deployed two electric buses from the Southeast border of Delhi near the Badarpur Border Metro Stations to the Surajkund Mela Ground. In between these two nodal points, the buses will cover a distance of around four kilometres.

"Surajkund Mela is a proud cultural celebration that attracts visitors from across India and abroad. Our priority is to provide safe, reliable and affordable public transport so that families and tourists can travel without inconvenience,” said Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh while inaugurating this special bus service.

Singh further said that the dedicated DTC bus service will ensure that visitors get last-mile connectivity from the metro station to the mela grounds without any hassle. The initiative will also promote clean and eco-friendly mobility. The DTC will be running these services in coordination with the Haryana Transport Department to ensure smoother inter-state transportation since the Surajkund Mela is held at Faridabad, which falls under the jurisdiction of Haryana.
