Amid reports that the Delhi Police will today question Arvind Kejriwal’s parents in the Swati Maliwal assault case, the AAP supremo said he was waiting at his home with his parents for the former’s visit. Kejriwal has long been mum over the AAP Rajya Sabha MP’s manhandling at the CM house by his close associate Bibhav Kumar. Yesterday, in an interview with the news agency PTI, Kejriwal said there were two versions of the case and a fair investigation should take place.
On Wednesday, Kejriwal said the Delhi Police will question his ‘ailing’ parents in the case. In a recent tweet, Kejriwal said he was waiting at his home for the cops’ visit as they sought time from him. “I am waiting for the police with my parents and wife. Yesterday the police called my parents and asked for time for interrogation. But they have not given any information yet whether they will come or not,” he posted on X. He also shared a video accompanying his father outside his house.
pic.twitter.com/38Yswozmoi

However, Delhi Police Special Commissioner of Law and Order, Ravindra Singh Yadav, stated that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife and parents were to be questioned, but they have not yet given a suitable time.
He said the decision to conduct the questioning was unilaterally made for today but it was postponed due to accusations and counter-accusations made by the AAP leaders in front of the media, adding that the police would reconsider whether to proceed with the questioning or not.
Delhi Police claimed Kejriwal did not give them the time, instead released photos before the media pretending to have been ready with parents for the questioning.

Kejriwal, however, accused the police of trying to harass his parents. A police officer, cited by Jagran.com, said Kejriwal never responds to their calls made to seek information about the case involving his close aide Bibhav. He said Delhi CM only speaks to the media and makes accusations.
