Tamil Nadu : A horrifying case of child sexual assault has emerged from a village near Gummidipoondi, where a 9-year-old girl was abducted and raped by an unidentified man on July 12. Despite the brutal assault, the child showed exceptional courage escaping from the attacker and warning another girl nearby, likely preventing a second tragedy.

The girl, a Class 4 student living with her grandmother in a border village along the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh line, had been walking home from school alone when she was targeted. Her parents work in Andhra Pradesh, leaving her in the care of her grandmother.

According to police, the suspect had reportedly arrived in the area by train and was seen loitering near mango orchards. Spotting the girl alone, he followed her into a secluded path between two farms and dragged her into a mango grove.
