The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, and nearby areas, on Monday. Similar warnings have also been extended to Bagpat, Meerut, Amroha, Rampur, and Bareilly, where significant rainfall is expected.

In addition to rain, thunderstorms are likely in 56 districts across the state. According to senior IMD scientist Dr Atul Kumar Singh, most regions in Uttar Pradesh—barring a few in the Awadh belt—are expected to receive rainfall.

No weather warnings have been issued for the next 24 hours in 18 districts, including Lucknow, Barabanki, Unnao, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli, Amethi, and Sultanpur.

Districts under the thunderstorm alert include Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kanpur Dehat, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, clear skies and sunshine in several districts on Sunday led to a slight increase in day temperatures. In Lucknow, the maximum temperature rose by one degree to 34.3 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Fatehgarh-Farrukhabad at 36.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Kanpur Dehat at 35.2 degrees Celsius and Kanpur city at 35.7 degrees Celsius.
