Coimbatore Flyover:  The Ukkadam-Athupalam flyover in Coimbatore was opened to the public on Friday, six years after the foundation stone was laid. This major project in Coimbatore was inaugurated by Chief Minister MK Stalin. The project was finished in two stages after it started in 2018.

The flyover's main structure is now operational, although construction is almost finished on the approach roads that go to Sungam. The Ukkadam ramp is 150 metres long and 8.45 metres high. In contrast, the ramps on Pollachi Road and Palakkad Road are 144 and 162 metres long, respectively, and have heights that range from 7.58 to 8.40 metres.

At Rs 460 crore, the flyover is expected to ease traffic in one of the busiest commercial centres in the second-biggest city in the state.

Often referred to as the Manchester of South India, Coimbatore is well known for its thriving small and medium-sized businesses. The city's advantageous position as a point of entry into Kerala has strengthened its appeal to large-scale enterprises, IT firms, and academic institutions, adding to its population's diversity and economic significance.

In addition to launching the flyover, the Chief Minister also placed the foundation stone for the Coimbatore Classic Park Library and Intellectual Centre's construction.
