Tamil Nadu Govt Formation: With Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar prolonging Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay's wait for the formation of the government, several speculations arose as to who would support the actor-turned-politician's party, which fell short of 10 seats, following winning 108 seats in 234 seats assembly.
The Indian Express, citing party sources, reported that the voice is growing in the AIADMK to support the TVK. EPS' party is facing an internal rift over the next move, it added.
Fear Of Poaching In AIADMK
AIADMK reportedly sent twenty-eight newly-elected MLAs to a private resort in Poorankuppam in Puducherry, away from Chennai, to avoid poaching amid TVK's quest for support. 19 party MLAs yet to go to the resort, which also shows that not all MLAs are on the same page.
BJP's Stand On AIADMK-TVK Talks
The news outlet reported that the top Bharatiya Janata Party leadership is uncomfortable with the growing influence of Congress in the southern states. As the Congress-led UDF won the Kerala polls, the saffron party does not want the grand old party's influence in Tamil Nadu. The BJP, which won only one seat in Tamil Nadu, is reportedly pushing the AIADMK to join the Vijay government. The AIADMK won 47 seats.

Tamil Nadu Governor Adds Suspense
Meanwhile, the Governor asked Vijay to show majority numbers and submit a list of supporting MLAs during the second round of discussions held in Chennai on Thursday, following TVK chief's second attempt to convince Arlekar. According to sources, the Governor sought clarity on the "magic number" required for government formation and asked Vijay to furnish details of legislators backing TVK's claim to form the government in Tamil Nadu.
Party seniors have reportedly suggested that TVK explore legal options by approaching either the Supreme Court or the High Court regarding the government formation process. Some leaders also suggested the possibility of going for re-election, sources added.
