Amid growing tension, a difference of opinion again surfaced between Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S Ramadoss and the current party president, Anbumani Ramadoss, on Saturday while discussing the agenda of the party. The argument took place during PMK's general council meeting at Pattanur in the Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu.

The argument began as S Ramadoss the name of P Mukundan, his grandson, for the post of the party's youth wing president. Objecting to the proposal of S Ramadoss, Ambumani stated that his proposal cannot be accepted as Mukundan had joined the party only four months ago and lacks the experience to hold such a responsible post.

However, S Ramadoss emphasised that he launched the Vanniyar Sangam and the party through hard work, and his decisions are in favour of the ideology. He further escalated the tension by adding that those who did not agree to his ideas were free to leave the party. He also added that the decision was taken by keeping the upcoming elections into consideration. He emphasised that Mukundan would help Anbumani and the party win 50 seats in the 2026 Assembly election. However, Mukundan did not appear in the meeting to accept the post.

Anbumani stated that Mukunthan had joined the party only four months ago and that he did not have enough experience to become the youth wing leader. He added that an experienced person with relevant talent should be appointed for the post. He also stated that he had an office in Panaiyur and any party worker could meet him to discuss the strategies of the party. Earlier, M Tamilkumaran held the post of president of the youth wing of the party. Earlier on Wednesday, Tamil Nadu minister SS Sivasankar asked the PMK leaders to ask central government to conduct the decennial census to hold the caste census.
