Tamil Nadu Power Cut: Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) will establish mobile teams to monitor and rectify power disruption taking place in the rural areas. This will ensure that there is uninterrupted electricity upply during the summer months in the state, said the additional chief secretary and chairman and managing director of TANGEDCO, J Radhakrishnan in Thanjavur.
J Radhakrishnan was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Conservation of Biodiversity conference organised by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu on Saturday.
According to Radhakrishnan, after the first week of May, power demand is likely to go up. The wind power generation is expected to increase during May. He then said that there won’t be power outages in the current year in Tamil Nadu.
“Tangedco has been initiating steps to establish mobile teams to monitor and rectify the power cuts in the rural areas across the State on time”, he said, as quoted by a DTNEXT report.
He highlighted TANGEDCO’s commitment to rectify the issues related to power supply. “We have also instructed the officials to solve any issue related to power cuts even during the late hours,” he said.

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has issued a rainfall alert for Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, and Dindigul districts of Tamil Nadu for Monday. The weather department has also issued a 'yellow' alert for Chennai. A warning of lightning and strong winds at 30 to 40 kmph has been issued in the hilly areas of Coimbatore. Residents of Chennai are likely to experience a maximum temperature of 38 to 39 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 28-29 degrees Celsius today.
