Two schools in Tamil Nadu, one in Coimbatore and another in Kancheepuram, received a bomb threat on Sunday night and Monday morning respectively, causing panic among students, parents and staff. The schools were identified as PSBB Millennium School in Coimbatore and a private school in Kancheepuram district.
Police and a bomb squad rushed to the PSBB Millennium School in Coimbatore after an email warning of a bomb planted in the school was received. A similar hoax call was made to a private school in Kancheepuram district.
Police have launched an investigation to trace the source of the email and the call. They have also beefed up security at the schools and no one is allowed to enter the school premises without proper checking.

Meanwhile, crude bombs were recovered from an abandoned hut in a field, 20 kilometres away from where West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was scheduled to address an administrative review meeting on Monday afternoon. The cops also found some raw material for making more bombs in the hut, which was used by the miscreants for assembling explosives. A search operation has been launched to nab the culprits.
The bombs were discovered during a routine sanitization of the area before the CM’s visit, sources from the state police said. The CM was expected to hold a meeting at Tamluk in the East Midnapore district.
