Tamil Nadu Weather: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has forecast light to moderate rain in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal until June 28, due to changes in the speed of the westerly winds. The weather department said that isolated places across the region may experience rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, particularly on June 22.
According to officials, a few areas in Tamil Nadu recorded rainfall recently, while dry weather conditions continued in Puducherry and Karaikal. In addition to the rain forecast, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning about higher-than-usual temperatures and discomfort due to humidity.
Tamil Nadu Weather Forecast
From June 22 to June 24, maximum temperatures are expected to be 2 to 3 degrees Celsius above normal in some parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. This could result in increased discomfort, especially in regions experiencing high humidity and warm nighttime temperatures. The department said that the overall trend in maximum temperatures is not likely to change significantly until June 26.
Chennai 7-Day Weather Forecast
In Chennai, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy throughout the week. Light rain is likely from June 22 to June 23, with daytime temperatures around 37 degrees Celsius and night temperatures near 28 degrees Celsius. On June 24, the city may see partly cloudy skies with a slight increase in daytime temperature to 38 degrees Celsius. Light showers are expected to return from June 25 to June 26, with temperatures steady at 37 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius. Moderate rainfall is likely towards the weekend, particularly on June 27 and June 28, when the maximum temperature may drop slightly to 36 degrees Celsius. High humidity will persist through the week, potentially adding to the discomfort in Chennai and nearby areas.
