Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Bihar are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that the rainfall will provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. However, it further warned that the water level in several rivers has been increasing. The weather department stated that multiple districts, including Shivhar, Sitamarhi, and Samastipur, are likely to witness flood-like situations in the upcoming weeks.
The IMD further stated that these districts are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 60 to 80 kmph. Apart from this, the Disaster Management Authority has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences. The weather department has also appealed to the rescue teams to stay alert in these districts. The IMD had stated that the rainfall is likely to benefit the farmers; however, it further advised them to reduce the agricultural activities during the rainfall.
The weather department also stated that several districts, including Aurangabad, Gaya, Nalanda, Siwan, Jamui, Sheikhpura, Patna's Fatuha, Danapur, Punpun, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Madhepura, Begusarai, Saharsa, Sasaram, and Chhapra, are also expected to witness rainfall for the next two to three days. Apart from this, other districts, including the capital city Patna, Begusarai, and Lakhisarai, are also likely to receive rainfall.
The IMD further stated that while Patna's maximum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius on Saturday, the minimum temperature remained around 22 degrees Celsius. The weather department stated that apart from Bihar, several other states, including Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala, are expected to witness rainfall for the next few days.
