Tamil Nadu Weather: On April 28, the Chennai Meteorological Department forecasts minimum and maximum temperatures of around 29 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius, respectively. Residents can expect light rain with thundershowers in several areas, including Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam and the Karaikal region today.
Tamil Nadu Districts Weather Alert
The Meteorological department has issued warnings for rain accompanied by thunder and lightning across five districts: Villupuram, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur and Ramanathapuram. This weather may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.
Chennai Rain Update
A cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal is extending from the Marathwada region to the Gulf of Mannar, affecting Karnataka and Tamil Nadu at an altitude of 0.9 km above sea level. This system is expected to produce light to moderate rainfall in Chennai and surrounding districts.
Meanwhile, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy today, with light rain possible in some areas of Chennai. The maximum temperature could reach 36-37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is likely to remain around 28-29 degrees Celsius.
Tamil Nadu Weather Forecast
Forecasts indicate that light to moderate rain could also occur in Viluppuram, Thiruvarur, Ramanathapuram and Puducherry. The weather department cautioned that these conditions may result in waterlogging and traffic congestion in some regions.

Furthermore, a convergence of east and west winds over southern India suggests a likelihood of rain with thunder and lightning in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. Rainfall is expected to continue intermittently from April 29 to May 2, with similar conditions anticipated on May 3.
As temperatures in Tamil Nadu continue to rise, residents have been experiencing discomfort, especially motorists on the roads. Meteorologists warn that temperatures may increase further until the end of the month, advising the public to take precautions against the heat.
