Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that several districts are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that along with the rainfall, the coastal regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. It further stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages in several regions. Several cities are likely to witness a drop in the temperature by two to three degrees Celsius due to the rainfall. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

THESE Districts To Witness Rainfall

While providing details, the authority stated that several regions, including Ramanathapuram, Pamban, Nilgiri, Myladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, and Pudukkottai are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall for at least till November 20. Along with heavy rainfall, these districts are also set to receive thunderstorms, leading to inconveniences.

Apart from this, the weather department also stated that the capital city Chennai will also witness light rainfall, along with cloudy skies and light breeze for the next few days. It further stated that the other regions, including Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, and nearby districts are also likely to witness witness heavy rainfall for the next few days.

The IMD further stated that due to a cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal, several other southern and western states, including Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, are expected to witness moderate to heavy rainfall for the next few days. It further advised the fishermen to maintain a distance with the water bodies and limit their financial activities to avoid inconveniences.

Apart from this, the IMD has issued a cold wave alert for parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on November 15 and 16. A cold wave is also likely in Uttar Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan during the same period, leading to inconveniences to the residents.
