Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday stated that several districts of Tamil Nadu are likely to witness light to heavy rain for the next few days. The authority stated that several regions of the southern and northern parts of the state are expected to witness thunderstorms and strong winds along with heavy rain. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. However, the excessive rain is also set to lead to situations like waterlogging in multiple cities, leading to slow vehicular movement. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) of Chennai stated that the coastal regions are expected to witness very heavy rain at least till September 7. It further stated that a low-pressure area is expected to form over the north Bay of Bengal in the next three to four days. The formation of a low-pressure area is likely to change the weather conditions in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and other nearby regions.
