Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Tamil Nadu are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that the rainfall is likely to be accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms. It added that while the maximum temperature of Chennai is likely to be calculated at 37 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 29 degrees Celsius. The IMD stated that the rainfall in the past few days has reduced the temperature significantly, providing relief from the scorching heat.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tenkasi, Dindigul, Theni, Thoothukudi, Sivaganga, Pudukkottai, Tanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli, Tiruppur, Dindigul, and Kanniyakumari, are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming days. It further stated that while the humidity is expected to remain around 66 per cent, the skies are likely to remain cloudy.
The IMD stated that Chennai and other districts are set to witness rainfall due to a cyclonic circulation over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining South Andaman Sea. However, the weather department also stated that the rainfall may lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages. It advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

June 2: Cloudy skies expected with light rain
June 3: Moderate rainfall in the late hours of the day
June 4: Partly cloudy skies expected with light rain; maximum temperature likely to reduce
June 5: Moderate rainfall expected with thunderstorms
June 6: Cloudy skies with light rainfall expected

The weather department also stated that apart from Tamil Nadu, other states, including Kerala, Karnataka, and Delhi, are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall till June 6.
