Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The IMD has forecast moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in Puducherry, Karaikal on Monday. Meanwhile, Chennai is expected to experience cloudy conditions today followed by light rain or drizzle on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The rain activity in the capital is likely to continue till August 3.

A low pressure area has developed over the Arabian Sea off the Gujarat-North Kerala coast. Due to the change in the speed of the westerly winds, widespread rain is lashing South India.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon, which has been intensifying over Kerala, Karnataka and the Western Ghats districts for the past few days, is expected to gradually weaken in the next 48 hours.

July 28: Light to mooderate rain, thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over Tami Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.

July 29: Light to moderate rain and strong wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.
